Endodontics Treatment of necrotic immature permanent teeth resulting in continued root development, increased thickness in the dentinal walls and apical closure. These developments in regeneration of a functional pulp-dentin complex have a promising impact on efforts to retain the natural dentition, the ultimate goal of endodontic treatment. Endodontic therapy is the long-term retention of a functional tooth by preventing or treating apical periodontitis. However, the outcome of the endodontic treatment is multifactorial such as the quality of the restoration and structural integrity of the tooth after root canal preparation. “Nominal Intrusive endodontics (MIE).” MIE is desirable in the interest of the patient, and preserving tooth structure requires optical magnification aids (surgical microscope), ultra sonicassisted preparation techniques, modern file systems, and in-depth knowledge of the tooth and root canal anatomy. Successfully proposed revisions to the Accreditation Standards for Advanced Specialty Education Programs in Endodontics to include revascularization/regenerative endodontics as required curriculum. To be more specific with regards to endodontics and root canal procedures the following bulleted items are put forth to capture the essence of what is needed to be achieved within the scope of minimally invasive endodontics (MIE) if this is to be the future of dental practice.
